K.. I am going to try something new: One post per day! I have a feeling that I will fail miserably, but heck: it’s worth a shot!

Yesterday was nice. Slow. Did a LOT of reading about this relatively new language called jQuery. For those of you in the know, jQuery is pretty awesome. It allows you to do some really neat things with Java Script in a very small number of lines of code that otherwise would call for all kinds of code and script files. It is used by a lot of sites out there, and of course, we are looking at ways of using it here at Kroll. That was about it. Oh, I did start putting together the preliminary database plan for my blogging system that I am going to build. Not sure how that will work out, yet… need to do more research. All I know is that most of the blogging systems out there so far are written in PHP with a mySQL database back-end… and I like Microsoft SQL Server, ASP.net, and C#, so I am going to write mine in that. I may even learn and use Silverlight… who knows. I’m really excited! If all goes according to plan, I should have a working prototype database system by the end of January and a useable front-end by March. I’ve even settled on a name for this system that I don’t think is being used on anything else! Of course, I can’t really say what it is on here until I research and trademark it. I wonder if you have to be a company to trademark something?

As for other stuff: I uploaded pics of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. I hope that I am allowed… I suppose if they see them and don’t want me to post them, then I will take them down. I had a really strange dream last night as well. It is becoming foggy now, so I better write it out before I forget it… but it was a Greek-based dream (not the country or culture, but the TV show on ABC Family). If you watch Greek then the names will be familiar, otherwise you may not get it. The dream began with me and Eric at home. There was then a knock on the door and it was Evan and Cappie. Evan was excited because his family had just bought 3 new houses in the same area of town in which Eric and I live. There was a problem, though, the houses were lived in and really dirty, so Evan wanted Eric, Cappie, and I to clean them, and whoever did the fastest and cleanest job got to keep the house they cleaned. Well, Eric and I got really excited and jumped at the opportunity, got to the houses, and started cleaning. Cappie wasn’t that happy about it, but he likes to just go with the flow, so he was like, “eh… What the hell!” I get to my house and it was TERRIBLE. So dark, and REALLY out of date. It was like an 80’s monstrosity. I tried really hard but could not get anything clean. Then, out of nowhere, a storm comes up, complete with tornados, and destroys the houses, along with most of the community in which Eric and I live. So, I thought to myself: “That’s a bummer” and went back home. Luckily, me and Eric’s townhome was not touched. As soon as I got home, I woke up… and that was that. It is interesting, though, because it is the second dream that I have had recently surrounding people from TV and tornados. *shrugs* oh well.
