Yay for spontaneous trips!!!

Posted by bretthperkins on August 13, 2008

So, something happened yesterday that rarely, if ever happens…  My roommates and I took a trip.  You know, after living together for SO long, you think that we would do this sort of thing more often, but we don’t.  I got up yesterday and David told me that he and Jenny were going to go to the aquarium in Chattanooga and asked if I would like to go along.  I was like, sure… Why not?!  So we went, along with Daniel.  It was a VERY NICE DAY!!!  :)   We got there at around 12:00 and went to both the Ocean Journey and the River Journey.  I am not a HUGE fan of nature, but I have to say that it was very kool to see what all was in there!!!  More than anything, though, it was nice to just go out and spend time with Daniel and David.  We had a gr8 lunch and headed up the mountain to check out Rock City, but we decided not to pay for Rock City too, on top of the aquarium.  It was SO quiet up there, tho…  almost TOO quiet. lol.  I think that since they are out of school this year and I am done too that we will be making more of these little trips.  I know that they want to.  It will be SO fun to head up to some caves in KY or maybe go to a theme park, Six Flags in GA or in KY… who knows.  I can’t wait for our next trip. :)

On other things…. work has been great.  This weekend was VERY stressful as I was learning things, then breaking them.  I REALLY messed up our production last weekend, and it required A LOT of work to fix it, but I stuck with it and got it done.  Apparently, leadership was more concerned and appreciative of the fact that I actually took ownership of what was going on and took steps to fix it.  I have heard from many people that management is talking about me, and while that is not my goal, it feels good. :)   In the end, I just want to do the best job I can within the confines of what I do.

And I want more coffee…  :p I’m at JoZoara’s:  a.k.a the BEST place on Earth!
